Research Paper
(50 minutes)
A single presenter or a panel of presenters deliver a formal presentation about a research study that is in progress or has been completed. Abstracts must include sufficient detail regarding methods, results, and implications.
Roundtable Discussion
(20 minutes for speaker + 30 minutes for audience)
The session begins with the speaker presenting an IRM-related idea or topic to a group of people for approximately 15-20 minutes. Slides are not necessary for this part of the presentation but may be used to provide background or to generate audience ideas and reflection. After 15-20 minutes, the focus of the discussion shifts from the presenter to the audience. For the remainder of the session, the presenter invites comments, insights, and questions from those around the room. Alternatively, the presenter may engage the audience in working collaboratively on a task, such as an IRM assessment or a preliminary teaching approach.
Small Group Lunch Discussion Topic
(50 minutes)
This is an informal lunch discussion led by a facilitator, who proposes an IRM-related state-of-the-science question or topic for peers to discuss over lunch. This could also be a working lunch for collaborators to plan a future or ongoing IRM-related project.
Lightning Talk
(10 minutes)
The speaker has no more than 10 minutes to make an announcement. This type of presentation does not normally contain many, if any, slides. The speaker is required to make a concise statement about a recent initiative or discovery or raise an important question that may be addressed at a later point in time.
Case Example Narrative
(30 minutes)
The speaker presents an example of practice with a client, a group of clients, or an example of a teaching-related practice with students that illustrates the application of IRM in practice or teaching.
